If you have never replaced the wheel bearings on your 1967 Camaro, the bearings are probably worn and damaged. High speeds and long mileage can cause the wheel bearings to develop holes and grooves. Damaged bearings can cause the wheels to become less responsive and not turn in a smooth motion. Replacing the wheel bearings is vital to ensure your wheels turn the way they should.

Replace a Rear Wheel Bearing
Park your Camaro on a flat surface. Engage the parking brake. Slide the car jack underneath the vehicle.
Raise the vehicle off the ground. Place a jack stand underneath the frame. This will provide extra support.
Use the adjustable wrench to loosen and remove the nuts attached to the rear wheel. Pull the wheel away from the axle. If you are struggling to remove the wheel, turn it slightly and pull it away from you. Move the wheel out of the way.
Locate the mounting bolts attached to the brake caliper. Use the wrench to take the bolts from the caliper. Keep them in a safe area, such as a magnetic tray or in your pocket. Lift the brake caliper from the bracket and move it to one side. Don't pull it too hard or you might damage the brake line.
Remove the retaining nut from the back of the rotor, then remove the rotor. Loosen and remove the nut and washer on the wheel hub. Pull the hub away from the wheel assembly. Carefully slide the inner and outer wheel bearings away from the hub.
Roll the bearings along a smooth surface. If there are any grooves or holes present in any of the bearings, you need to discard them and replace them with new, smooth bearings. Place the bearings into the seals and slide back them into the wheel hub. Reattach the wheel hub, brake caliper and rest of the wheel assembly by following the removal steps in reverse.
