Installing a newer style seat in your 1967 Ford Pickup is a great way to bring some modern comfort to a classic vehicle. You can order one that fits your vehicle through an auto supply store or your local Ford dealership. You also might look for a salvage yard that has a collection of wrecked late-model Ford trucks. Installing the new seat is a task which should take about an hour to complete.
Tools Used: New seat, Measuring tape, Ratchet wrench and socket set, Drill and drill bits
Install a Newer Style Seat
Measure and make sure the seat you have selected will fit properly. Locate the mounting bolts at the bottom brackets of the seat which secure it to the vehicle frame. Use a socket wrench to remove them and lift the seat out of the truck.
Place the new seat bottom in the vehicle in the correct position. Align its mounting bracket bolt holes with those on the floor of the truck.
If extra holes need to be made in to the floor in order for the seat to be connected, use a marker pen to mark their positions. You may need to remove some of the carpeting to do this. Make sure there are no wires or lines in the way. Use a drill and appropriate bit to make the holes.
Place the new seat backrest in the truck and secure it to the seat frame by attaching its bolts.
