How to Put Side Emblems on 1966 Ford Mustang

The 1966 Ford Mustang featured three metal emblems on each front fender. The emblem at the front of the fender identified the cubic inch displacement of the engine. At the back of the fender, an emblem read "MUSTANG." Between these two emblems was the emblem most commonly associated with the Mustang: a horse galloping in front of three colored vertical columns. All three emblems attached to the fender with barrel nuts. Fortunately, installing the emblems takes only a few minutes and new barrel nuts are almost always supplied with new emblems.

This process does not require tools.

Put Side Emblems

Insert the barrel nuts into the emblem holes on the side of the fender.

Position the emblem against the fender, taking care to align each metal post on the back of the emblem with its barrel nut.

Press the center of the emblem towards the fender until each of the metal posts on the back of the emblem slide completely into their barrel nuts.
