The 1967 Ford Fairlane features an in-dash combination headlight switch. Pulling the knob out of the assembly turns the headlights on, while pushing the knob into the dashboard turns them off. If twisted, the knob determines the intensity of the lights used to illuminate the instruments panel. The Fairlane's headlight switch is protected by an 18-ampere circuit breaker. If the switch's fuse within the fuse box is still in working order but the switch fails to operate, the switch must be removed and either repaired or replaced.

Disconnect the battery ground cable with a wrench.
Pull the headlight switch knob to its "On" position.
Reach underneath the dashboard and press the metal button on the passenger's side of the headlight switch. Keep the button depressed and pull the headlight switch knob out of the switch.
Insert a flathead screwdriver into the groove on the face of the headlight switch bezel. The bezel is the circular piece that rests against the face of the dashboard.
