How to Remove Rear Window Trim on 1969 Ford Mustang

The Ford Motor Company introduced the Mustang in 1964 and it has been popular ever since. You can remove the rear window trim from a '69 Mustang at home to save yourself some time and money. The trim is used to keep debris out of the door and it also holds the window in place. You may wish to remove the trim if it has become cracked and worn due to age or other damage and if it is failing to keep the elements out of your car. Please keep in mind that removing the trim destroys it. But it's a quick job that will take you less than a half hour to complete once you obtain a trim removal tool from an auto parts store.

Tools Used: Trim removal tool

Remove Rear Window Trim

Locate the trim on the rear window. Notice that it is around the full circumference of the window, both inside the vehicle and outside.

From inside the vehicle, stick the trim removal tool into the outside edge of the trim. Pry up the trim, working your way around it slowly.

Pull up the trim and remove it with your hands once you have loosened it.

Stand outside the car and repeat Steps 2 and 3.
