How to Remove the Window Cranks on a 1965 Ford Falcon

Most window cranks are held in place by a spring clip, and removing them requires a specialized crank removal tool. Some Ford Vehicles are slightly different. The 1965 Ford Falcon doesn't feature a spring clip, but removing the cranks is still a simple process. Instead of using the special tool appropriate for most other cars, all you need is a drill, a screwdriver attachment and a set of screwdriver tips.

Tools Used: Drill, Screwdriver attachment, Screwdriver tip set

Remove Window Cranks

Open the driver's side door on your Ford Falcon, find the window crank and examine the screw holding the crank onto the door. Since the Falcon is more than 30 years old, the screw in the door may not be the original manufacturer's part.

Select the screw tip the best fits the screw in the window crank and place it onto the drill's screw driver attachment.

Place the screwdriver attachment onto the drill.

Set the drill into "reverse" and remove the screw from the window crank. Keep the screw for later use.

Pull the crank off the door, and repeat this process for the passenger side door.
