In 1933, by commission of Adolf Hitler, Ferdinand Porsche created the first Volkswagen vehicle, known as the V1. While redesigning and upgrading, in 1939 Volkswagen introduced the V39, more commonly referred to as the Beetle. The compact body design was Volkswagen's trademark vehicle. In 1966 and 1967, modifications were made to the Beetle, including a defroster in the front dashboard to defrost your windshield. This option on your 1967 Volkswagen Beetle is a basic function which requires no automotive experience.
This process does not require tools.
Use the Defrost
Open your driver's side front door and sit down on the front seat. If you're going to drive your Volkswagen, put your seatbelt on.
Insert your 1967 Volkswagen ignition key and start your vehicle. Push the clutch in when turning the ignition key.
Locate the defrost knob on your Beetle's dash assembly. It will be the button on the left side of your steering wheel that can only be pushed in to turn the defroster on, or pulled out to turn the defroster off. The defrost vent where the heat comes out is located on the top-center of your Volkswagen's dash.
Tips & Warnings
In colder conditions, starting your 1967 Volkswagen and letting it sit idle for five to ten minutes will greatly reduce the time it takes for your defroster to operate at full capacity.
