1984 Dodge Caravan Driver's-side Low Beam Replacement

Replacing the driver's-side low beam headlight on your 1984 Dodge Caravan is a straightforward process, but it is very important. Driving with a faulty headlight can reduce your road vision and make it difficult for other drivers to see your vehicle. In addition, many states have laws against driving a vehicle with a faulty light and you could potentially receive a citation. The entire process requires only a screwdriver, a replacement 9007 bulb, and a few minutes.

Tools Used: Phillips screwdriver, Clean rag, Replacement bulb

Replace Driver's-side Low Beam

Open the hood and turn off the engine.

Remove the three screws securing the headlight assembly to the vehicle.

Rotate the low-beam bulb socket ring counterclockwise to remove it from the assembly. The low-beam bulb socket is the larger socket.

Disconnect the electrical connector from the assembly and pull the bulb out of the vehicle. Use a clean rag to install the replacement bulb and reattach the bulb socket retaining ring.

Reconnect the electrical connector and reinstall the three screws to the headlight assembly. Close the hood.

Tips & Warnings

Do not touch the bulb with your bare hands as it may damage the bulb.
